A Chinese man accused of killing 11 people said on Wednesday that he acted because of money or outrage.
Speaking at the opening of a court hearing in this southern city of Shenzhen, Wu Yandong, 42, admitted all the accusations, saying he killed people either for money or to give vent to his anger.
"I could not stop after the first time. I knew it (the trial) will come sooner or later," said the serial killer while standing in the Shenzhen Municipal Intermediate People's Court.
Wu, once an employee of a company in southwest China's Sichuan Province, was originally sentenced to death by a local court in 2004 for killing the husband of his lover in June 2003.
More clues indicating that he had killed others led to the discovery of more bodies. The court withdrew the ruling and transferred the case to Shenzhen police.
Wu was suspected of killing 11 people, including his two other lovers and their daughter and sister, three truck owners and a motorcycle rider from 1999 to 2003. He also carried out two paid killings during the period.
